The seeds collected and banked by Seed LA are intended for two users
#1 : The landowners where seed was collected.
#2 : Supporting professional landscapers, conservationists, and restoration ecologists who utilize locally sourced plant material for habitat enhancement projects in Los Angeles County.
Seed LA has developed a Collection and Distribution Policy which address our mission to make these seeds accessible, while considering their true value and cost
In order to accomplish our goal of making locally adapted seeds accessible, a critical aspect of our work includes the distribution of seeds. Locally adapted seeds are a rare and precious resource in our landscapes, with native plant populations in urban Los Angeles continuously declining. A significant amount of time goes into identifying, scouting, collecting, cleaning and processing the seeds.
Seed Requests
